I know you've probably heard this question 1000 times or more, but I need help deciding on a new camera for my daughter for Christmas. She is almost 17 and very responsible. I am looking to spend $300 or less. She is mid-range knowlegable. I think she would like one with a larger display screen to see the shot before she takes it, stabilization, removable media storage, smallish in size. Nothing requiring changing of lenses or anything like that. I don't know if there are any that take small bites of video as well or not but she is a competitive dancer and video would be a big plus, but not expected in this price range. No manual focusing required would be easiest. Not sure what else to mention. Thank you so much for your help.

B&H has the Canon SD800 IS in stock for under $300.

Young girls love the Canon SD cameras. Great photos, good video, very stylish, very cool.

She would be thrilled I think.
