I'm looking for a digital camera to use on a movie set. The main requirement is that it should be totally silent, no whirring, shutter release click or any other noise when actuated.

I'd like it to be at least 5 Megapixels. I'd prefer Canon or Nikon since I have experience with them and would prefer to stay with those brands. Other brands will be considered if Canon or Nikon don't have any totally silent models. Camera doesn't need to be dSLR. Decent zoom range. Prefer compact flash as the storage media since I have several of those for my Fuji S2.

Thanks for you help.

Hi Selectol: The 8 mp Olympus C8080 Wide Angle Zoom camera offers a menu option to set up the camera to allow you to take pictures silently, or choosea shutter sound. You can make the shot in total silence. However, if you zoom the lens from wide angle to telphoto, there will be a small sound when the lens is changing focal length. Butif you stay at the same focal length, you can shoot in total silence.

I own one, and can attest that it is a great camera, withan outstanding lens.
