I would suggest the new Nikon D5100,Looks v promising. or the Sony a580.

A big thanks to everyone for taking time out to reply to my query.
Since i am going on a trip tomorrow, i bought the t2i with the canon 18-200 lens. I am going to save up for other lenses, but right now, this will do just fine.

The canon 18-200 is a good megazoom also. And will do a nice job for you. Congrats and enjoy your new camera.
