My old camera was a Canon ELPH (sd300 maybe) that worked great for a few years, but about a year ago would randomly go into movie mode. we decided to get a new camera, and after some research here and other sites settled on the Samsung TL320.
My wife and I have not been happy with the TL320 at all. There is a significant lag when starting up the camera, and the shot to shot delay, especially when using the flash, is unacceptable to us. We have small children, and need the camera to start up quickly if the kids are doing something cute. So I am in the market for a new camera again. I am looking in the $200-250 range. I would like a wide angle lens, at least 4x zoom, compact size, and a camera that has short delays on start up and between shots. I have looked at the SD1400IS and SX120IS, and both seem to fit my needs. What else should I be looking at? I am mostly taking photos of my kids, both indoors and out. Performance indoors is key as well. |

The Canon SX-130 adds 12X optical zoom and a 28mm wide angle at $249.00.

Thanks, Hector-
It may appear at time that we are going slightly "off topic," but the idea is to help as many folks as possible. Sarah Joyce |
