Sorry for the [kinda] cross-post, but no one answered in the Sony forum...
I was going out the door to buy the ONLY available Sony H2 within 25 miles of my house [no kidding] when I took a last look at some reviews. I stumbled across some SPECTACULAR night shots taken with the Kodak P850...[I know, I know] But take a look at these... http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=71713&forum_id=18&highli ght=850 Can the H2 do this? I'm willing to live w/ the Kodak colors [finish in Photoshop anyway] and the proprietary rechargable [what if I need power in Italy] but these shots are amazing... Thanks |

There's three things you need for such shots:
1. Camera capable to long exposures. (over couple seconds) 2. Tripod. (or something which does the job like "bean bag") 3. Way to trigger camera without causing it to shake. (if camera has 2 second timer that's very good) Third is optional but good to have. |

margot,
There is only one 850 pic in that thread (the first). The second pic was taken with a DX 6490, and the third with a Fuji F10. Before you buy, take a look at the resolution comparison pics betweeen the 850 and the H1 here: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/kodakp850/page14.asp Good luck with your choice. the Hun |
