It is only my personal opinion, but the Nikon 5900 is much better than the Casio. However the real stand-out in the point and shoot class of digital cameras is the Fuji F-10. It will take 500 photos on a single charge, it is 6.3mp, it has an effective flash range of 25 feet, not the usual 10 to 14 feet, it is exceptional at existing light/low light level and night photos, it take great day time photos, it is small/compact, and takes photos that are very comparable to the Canon SD-500.

However, the Fuji F-10 only sells for around $(US) 300.
