Hi folks!
I'm new to these forums, but look's like a fun place to hang out. I've been wanting to get myself a high resolution camera for some months now, i've been doing some research around the internet and studying various specifications and trying to decide which camera to get. I dont have a camcorder but i noticed the Nikon CoolPix is capable of 30fps 640x480 (TV resolution) and this got me intrested. Here are the cameras i was considering : Nikon Coolpix 7900 Kodak EasyShare C360 Kodak EasyShare DX7630 I am not intrested in the true high end SLR cameras due to their size. This camera will be used for all round photography (indoor, club/parties, nature, people, buildings, etc). Maybe i should be looking at another make or camera all togther, but hopefully some people here can help. The camera must have the following : 5+ Megapixel resolution SD Card Support (i've got 2x 1GB SD Cards already) Movie mode (at least 24/30fps) I would also love it if the camera was good in night conditions for both photography and movie modes. Best Regards, Dave |

Of the cameras you have chosen, the best would be the Nikon 7900. However, you must keep in mind that it is basically a point and shoot digital camera with only poor night capability.
In the very same price range, the Olympus C-7000 could offer you very similar features and much better night capability. It would also provide full manual controls, least you want to move to manual controls as you gain experience. Given the choice of the Nikon 7900 or the Olympus C-700, I would take the C-7000 for its greater potential. Both are excellent digital cameras. Sarah Joyce |

I checked out the Olympus camera, but the resolution was a little too low for what i was after. Maybe their is a better alternative out their? |

Megazoid-
The Olympus C-7000 is a full 7mp camera. Are you looking for an 8mp or higher digital camera? Or was it that you wanted more zoom? Sarah Joyce |
