Costco has both on sale for the same price. They come with 2 lenses, bag, charger etc. Leaning toward the 5600, but its been out for almost 3 years. HELP!

The D5600 has 39 AF points while the D3500 has 11.
The D5600 has an external microphone jack. The D5600 has a 3.2 inch LCD monitor while the D3500 has a 3.0 inch monitor. The D3500 has a longer battery life and weighs slightly less. For the same price, I'd go with the D5600. But my choice was the D7200. It's got a faster shutter speed, can use a vertical grip and can use older lenses that don't have their own AF motors.

I usually look at the comparison sites like the following when determining the strengths of each camera: I wouldn't worry about battery life too much, you can always purchase third brand batteries that are relatively inexpensive.
The screen being articulating and a touch screen and the more focus points would my my reason to choose the 5600. But you need to decide what your needs are and choose from that. https://cameradecision.com/compare/N...vs-Nikon-D3500 |
