Im looking for one of these 2. I think NX11 has better IQ than G3 as it has larger sensor? if not, which camera has better IQ and by how much? I mean is there considerable difference? which camera has more feautures and better value for money? Thanks..

keep in mind that a lot of the things involved with image quality - sharpness, chromatic aberration - are more about the lens than the camera. and image quality is sometimes about processing as it is about the sensor. i felt my gf1's image quality compared favorably to the nx10 when i bought my gf1 2 years ago. if you can find some reviews of each camera with sample images, you can get a good idea of what each camera can deliver.
something else to consider - the lens choices for the panasonic g cameras are much better for the kind of photography i do.. samsung has yet to offer a zoom with focal lengths that would be really useful for me. http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/c...ype=accsubtype check out the zoom options on this page http://panasonic.net/avc/lumix/systemcamera/gms/lens/ excellent for me - i'm very happy with the quality of my 45-200 and my 14-45. and keep in mind that panasonic m4/3 cameras can also use all the olympus m4/3 lenses, so the g series can also use all these lenses http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_se...p?section=lens Last edited by pcake; Jan 15, 2012 at 12:39 PM. |

I personally don't think Samsung has made a great job of the IQ given the APS-C sized sensor. The G3 seems to eclipse the IQ of the NX11- surprisingly in the high iso/noise stakes..! The high resolution viewfinder,tilt/swivel LCD,faster operation, larger lens/accessory availability makes it a victory for the G3- in my humble opinion...

Here's a G3 high iso noise test- and the NX10 and 11
G3- http://www.trustedreviews.com/panaso...ormance_Page-6 NX10- http://www.trustedreviews.com/Samsun...ormance_Page-6 NX11- http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/digit...samsung-nx11/2 Note the paragraph at the bottom of the third page... ![]() |

Many thanks Simon,
Now I have ruled out NX11. but I am considering between GF3 and G3. I know GF3 dont have a viewfinder or hot shoe which is OK with me. only concern is IQ. I found that GF3 got less IQ than G£ but its approx £100 cheaper than G3 in Uk. is it worth to spend extra for G3? Quote:

The G3 has a different sensor- and seems to be the best micro 4/3 in IQ so far.
You are also losing the very useful tilt/swivel LCD- and also the stereo mic's atop the G3- as opposed to a Mono mic on the GF3. The hot-shoe may be useful in the future- but of all the extra's on the G3- the viewfinder would be the one HUGE plus over the GF3- making tracking subjects far easier and also very useful on very bright sunny days, when the sunlight might make viewing the LCD tricky. In my humble opinion- well worth the extra money... ![]() |
