I was thinking about getting the olympus stylus 810 with 8 MP but I saw that the stylus 1000 with 10 MP costs the same. It has got some bad reviews but I think people are looking for a real high quality camera in it since its 10 MP. What I want is a simple point and shoot camera that I can use to take pics of me and my friends at college. So, what really want to know is, should I get the 1000 or 810 when they cost the same?

Pmaw-
I own the 800 model and my biggest complaint was the visible artefacts that were visible in even 5" X 7" prints when photos were taken at high ISO settings. The Stylus 780 has received the best reviews. There is an excellent review of that camera over at www.megapixel.net. Sarah Joyce |

Well that is not going to be a big worry since I probably will not be making prints of the photos. I will only look at the pics there on the camera and put them up on myspace and facebook :GI really like the look of the olympus stylus cameras so I might look beyond just the 810 and the 1000. I will definately check out the 780.
