If you are looking down at the top of the camera from the back (lens away from you), the top left button closest to you (to the left of the hotshoe, closest towards you behind the flash mode button) is used for cycling between drive modes (single shot, continuous, self timer modes). Most DSLR models have a similar button to switch between drive modes.

I'm just borrowing this from a friend of mine. I tried using the top left button and going to the continuous frame icon and I even turned off the flash. I left the preset setting Auto but every time I try to shoot continuously it trys to focus and takes one shot? Don't know whats going wrong?

Nevermind I got it. It needs more of a flash (external flash) it looks like it's shooting in low light.
