seriously planning buying. if can afford (which is still questionable) Fuji S100 or Olympus E-420, of E-520 if S100 will be (more or less temporaly) unavailable.
and suggestions (excepts other models advisory) will be very [warmply]welcomed.

If you've ruled out other cameras, the E-520 is a fine choice. It has everything the E-420 has, plus sensor shift image stabilization.

Image stabilization is most usefull when using longer lenses, but it's never a bad idea to have it.

E-520 just as fallback option "if no S100's avaivable in shops".
they(in same ocasion) maybe Sony A200.
any other - Canon S1000, Pentax K200 ?
perform bad. especially for DSLR. if had no [other]choice, i try them, but, at last resort.

a friend just got s100fs. normaly i would say a dslr will be much better then any p&s, but this camera is so good that is convinience is about to change my mind. up to iso800 (including 800) s100fs has a super solid performance and neck to neck iso performance. dynamic range of the camera is just incredible (again neck to neck with dslrs thanks to its large sensor 2 thirds). having such a good zoom range is such a bonus and will save you money from buying lenses (and its good quality piece of glass they used on fuji). normaly i wouldnt compare any dslr with a point and shoot but if you got s100fs over entry level dslr's i would NOT say u made a mistake.
