I'm mostly a point and shoot person and am looking for a digital camera to use for vacations and family gatherings. My last camera was a Canon A75, and it did well for me except it was heavy and bulky.

Since Costco will havetheOlympus SP-700 on sale soon, I'd like to get some feedback on it but I can't find any user reviews.

I know Olympus is one of the top brands but that's pretty much it! Can anyone give me their opinion on this camera?

How far is the flash in the normal mode?

How does the picutre quality compare to other6 mp camera'sof this size?

Is it pretty user friendly and how the user's manual?

What are problems you may have encountered with this camera?

Any comments on this model is appreciated!

I don't know anyone who has one, and I haven't seen any professional reviews. The flash range, according to the Olympus UK site is:

Working Range: 0.3m – 2.6m (wide) / 1.2m – 2.1m (tele).

which doesn't seem all that impressive.

The manual is also available there for download.

Good luck.
