First hand just to let u know I'm new round here and find this a very useful forum :|
So here it goes: The camera i need to buy is for like 50% fotos / 50% video Should be compact camera (preferably ultra-compact) for easy carry around (< 200g). Hence manual controls is not priority. Point and Shoot i say :-). Has to be SD. Movies should be in [email protected] MPEG4 format or similar high compression format. (No M-jpeg that takes 1 gig for 8 min video :sad ![]() Sharp good quality foto is a must. Fotos will be taken in low light situations like late night parties. What I've realized and plz correct me if wrong: Checked (as in read around reviews and forums) and excluded: Sanyo xacti c5/c6 - low light issues Canon in general - videos take a lot of space Casio Ex-S600 / S500 - images seem way too soft, not sharp enough Panasonic Lumix Dmc-Fx9 - images seem a bit soft and videos take a lot of space To be considered: Casio Ex-Z850 - hope they'll fix the image over everything and lenses issue? (removed Casio Ex-Z600 / Ex-Z60 due to M-Jpeg usage for movies) Canon Ixus 60 / SD600 ; Ixus 750 / SD550 - will they adopt mpeg4? Nikon Coolpix s5 - looks good but expensive Open to suggestios or shared past experiences or other models ![]() |
