nope, that is just wrong.

the ccd in the f70exr is very similar in size to the canon's. .28cm^3 vs .3cm^3. it is the f200exr that has the larger .45cm^3 sensor.

the image quality difference between th fuji and the canon has nothing to do with sensor size. the difference has everything to do with how the EXR system works, by increasing dynamic range and decreasing noise through the "pixel binning" technology. however pixel-binning is not exactly how the EXR works, it actually is more sophisticated than that, but beyond this description.

because of the nature of the EXR system, that requires you to be in control of your camera and set it up properly for the given situation. and the terrible auto-mode on the fuji's. the original poster has decided that is not in her best interest.
