I do a lot of photography in low light conditions, typically for parties and such. The parties are generally in the night or evening when lighting from windows is limited and not sufficient to get a good shot. Also, it is not unusual for there to be a lot of children moving fast and acting cute. I also shoot parties in a more formal setting, but with subdued light. I would like a recommendation for a couple smaller size cameras that have either a significantly powerful flash to light more than the typical 12-15 feet, or the capability to use an auxiliary flash. I already have a larger camera with external flash (Konica-Minolta A2), but this would be one that is not so obvious for the candid shots. For example, I was looking at the Casio EX-P600 and EX-P700 since they both have a plug for a flash, but it is not clear where the flash is mounted on these cameras. Any suggestions?

for you purposes, i think the fuji f10 would be a good match.. it boasts useable ISO's up to 1600 (a first for compacts) which significantly improves the flash range of the camera.. if that is not enough, you can always use a digital slave flash such as the Metz 28-CS2.. combining this with the high useable ISOs of the f10 would give you plenty of flash power if the onboard flash is not enough..
