Quality HD camcorder with Video input?

Hi,

I'm looking for a Canon, Sony, JVC, etc. name-brand HD camcorder that also supports a video input port for recording video. The source will be from my portable thermal FLIR camera which does not have recording capability but does have a video output. I searched this site and it appears Aiptek is the only company that makes an HD camcorder with AV-IN, is this correct? Any particular reason why the major brands don't support VI?
