I'm torn between the pentax optio w60 and the olympus stylus 1030 sw. This camera will be with me when hiking, kayaking, camping, and used for everyday general picture taking.
I take mostly scenic photos of summit views and landscapes. I want a camera that I can throw in the side pocket of my pack and not worry about it. I don't need fully waterproof all I would need is rain proof. If there is a go anywhere type pf camera out there that fits this bill I want to here about it I am open to all suggestions... Some of my pros and cons. 1030sw - pros - shockproof, crushproof, lens cover Cons - non standard media, more expenxive W60 - pros- sd media, cheaper, better zoom, better image quality (from what I have read) Cons - no lens cover, not listed as shockproof, not listed as crush proof. Please please help me break this tie. Thanks Jim http://huskyhiker.com |

Well... I try to be careful with my cameras, so that I don't need to worry about shock resistance, etc. lol
So, I'd probably go for the W60 to get the lens with the better range from wide to long for mostly outdoor use. BTW, Olympus also has a new 1050SW out that Steve's just reviewed. http://www.steves-digicams.com/2008_...tylus1050.html |
