Default Replacement for my dead S6500.

Hello each.

Anyone any thoughts on the Fuji S2950 camera.

I look like having to replace my faulty S6500, I no longer do much serious photography but the S2950 looks similar to handle and is no where near as expensive as the camera's that are of a similar quality to the S6500.

Thanking any replyees in advance.

G'day Brian

The short answer is 'yes'
The 'little-bit-longer' answer is 'yes, tho there are others you might like to consider too'

My first digi was the Fuji S5000, 14x zoom and I loved it to death, so I know how you feel about keeping with a camera style that suits you

The 2950 [like the 4000] seems to have just about all you might need for enjoyable day-to-day photography ... easy to use menu system, good lens, 18x zoom is all you need for 95% of stuff, some 'manual' controls when you want to fiddle a bit, etc etc

The 4000 has a bit longer lens, but otherwise seems pretty much the same body

If you want a bit more precision with the zoom side of things, the HS10 [recently superceded & maybe going cheap] has a manual zoom ring, which I find very snazzy to work with and many times gets me that little-bit-extra with my zoom/framing precision

Hope this helps a bit - and come back with more Qs as they arise
