I am thinking of buying a Kodak v550 there seems to be one or two reports of poor battery life can anyone help.I also have anopportunity to buy a casio e-s100 fora very reasonable price .the camera will be used for everyday picture taking, family shots etc. I am pretty new to the digital camera market so guidance will be much appreciated. Great web site for the novice like myself.

Mark-
I don't own a Kodak V-550. However, most folks are very enthusiastic about the camera and I have read very few complaints indeed about battery life. Sarah Joyce |

please let us know on the Kodak forum how you enjoy it. people seem to love the colors right out of the camera--no need for post processing on the computer. |

Kodak pictures tend to be more color-saturated because Kodak has apparently decided that people like them better that way. To me, they look unnatural. Fuji digicams have a much more life-like color, in my opinion.

I'm kodak V550 user, for about 2 months now, generally ok, but hv few thing you shd know:
cons: 1. Shorter battery life (to solve this I buy additional batt) 2. Don't hv image stabilizer (abit of problem if in low light situation) Pros: 1. Big and clear LCD 2.5 inches 2. Hv optical view finder 3. Aspect ratio 3:2 4. Can zoom during video taking 5. High quality video 6. Hv date stamp (occasionally maybe useful) But if I given an option to buy again I may want to try Panasonic FX9  |
