Just wanted to post an FYI for those who are looking to give cameras as gifts this holiday season. I know "Black Friday" is just around the corner but if my experience is any indication, the best deals are going on now!
All of my deals were at my local Office Depot stores. Yes, I know... an office supply store! And not just1 store but multiple stores had the same prices. Most of these were clearance priced so your mileage may vary. The news of these deals is spreading quickly on the 'net so you may have some difficulty finding these Canon A620 or A610 for $89, minus a $30 Staples e-coupon (Office Depot accepts them) -> grand total $59 each. Yes $59 brand new. Older cams but Steve had plenty of praise in his reviews Canon A540 for $125 after rebates, could try the coupon -> might make it $95. Not as good as above but still a great deal nonetheless. Canon SD450 for $149, may use same coupon -> brings it to $119. Tiny camera with a big screen. Olympus Stylus 710 for $179, minus $30 coupon as above -> end result $149. Weatherproof. Anti-shake. Ultra-compact. Metal. Need I say more? Last but not least: Nikon D50 kit for $499. My local store had some until recently. Not the greatest deal on this one but again try the coupon. P.S. 1GB SD memory cards are $9.99 after rebates at OfficeDepot -> use a $10 staples coupon to make them free. Certainly not the greatest card but it goes well with the above cameras (except the Olympuswhich uses xD). |
