I personally own and use the Sony A-230 a lot. The optical viewfinder is a good deal better and larger than the viewfinder on the A-330. The A-230+kit lens+the Sony 55-200mm lens = a very good deal with a lot of bang for the buck.

The Sony 55-200mm lens is very very good lens.

The Sony would still be my choice. While the A230 is nowhere near perfect, it's better than the Nikon D3000 and way better than the D60.
