Sony dsc-hx9v

It looks like I will have to start looking for a new camera. the hx9v is starting to have problems lens doesn't come out ever time you turn it on.
But Sony is not making that camera so what camera replaced the one I have. Or what other cameras would compare to it.I like the dsc-hx9v it is a great camera for us to take along we take are trips on a Harley so there is not a lot of room. so I would like to stay about that size range. any help

Thanks Chuck

The HX-9V doesn't have a direct replacement, but there are other cameras in Sony's Cybershot product line that you might consider. The WX350 has an 18MP sensor and a 20X optical zoom, and the HX50V has a 20MP sensor and a 30X optical zoom.

And if space is truly at a premium, then you might consider the Sony QX-10 (18MP, 10X zoom). It basically consists of a lens and an image sensor so it is very compact, and WiFi so it can be controlled from a smartphone or tablet that you would have with you anyway.

You could also look at the Panasonic ZS30 (TZ40) 20x zoom, or the ZS40 (TZ60), 30x zoom.
