I need a camera to fit into my pocket, simply because I never take photos with my SLR. I have reservations in regards to overall casio quality, but the ex-z55's size and battery life seem to be unique. It has been repeatedly suggested that Sony's 7.2 takes better pictures, with more pixels to a LCD (although samller) and better video quality-yet with larger physical size. Bust shots, weak flash, manual modes, etc. don't seem to bother me as much cause I am old school with my SLR if I need it.

Does anyone offer further suggestions that could lean me in any direction? From what I can read, the positives from both sides ultimately seems to negate each other overall. Thanks for your time, Scott

Scott, I have the z55, Have had it for about 5 weeks, I have taken lots of pictures with it and find that I carry it much more than I would have my old canon s40. The pictures look a liitle worse than my old camera but it's not that noticable. So far I think it will be a fun camera for the point and shoot stuff. I don't know about the other camera you mentioned, never seen it. Ron

The Casios do take pretty grainy pictures. I'd go with the Sony.

Well, if image quality is what you want,. I'd actually recommend the Casio SD200/300.
