Hi guys, I am new....

I have just bought a sony dsc-p200 from ebay. It says it is in 100 working condition etc, so before I assume it is faulty I am going to post my problem here to see if it can be fixed.

I have limited experience in digital cameras, but i used to own a pentax optio s5i.

I opened my sony today and took a few test shots. The problem is that if i take say 5 photos of exactly the same thing in my house, all of the pics are different in terms of exposure, some are perfect, some are stupidly bright and some are very dark.

Whilst i would be able to recognise that if every photo was too dark a setting could be changed, what worries me is that the photos are unpredictable, it is almost pot luck.

I have noticed that sometimes the flash is more powerful than others, suggesting there might be somethign wrong with the light meter????

any help or suggestions would be welcomed

i have had a fiddle with the white balance ..... to no avail
