It appears to me from the information provided by the companies as well as from Steve's reviews that these cameras have comparable abilities except the olympus is waterproof.
Please advise which you think I should buy. I don't think there is enough of a difference in price to make a difference to me so it strictly comes down to performance and which will become obsolete further down the road. I appreciate any help. |

The T50 has true optical image stabilization and the 720 has digital. Digital works to some degree for movies but isn't very good for still photos. The T50 has a much higher definition LCD, and the LCD is transflective so it has a chance of being good in bright sunlight.
If you want to use it for snorkeling or are just rough on equipment the Oly is the better choice. But I think the Sony is the better camera. |
