Yes its an excellent camera.
Very very powerful flash (but with slow recharge) , takes excellent pictures (but with Sonys typical Purple Fringing / CA ), very good high ISO (usable 400, 800 in a pinch). Has a slow burst mode, small lcd (2in), no RAW, no hotshoe, takes the more expensive Memory sticks (duo) Comes with NiMh rechargeables, a charger and a tube adapter to mount filters or add on lenses. You could also try the Sony H5 (3in screen, 1 more megapixels) , or the Canon S2 or S3. The canons have the best burst mode, best movie mode (in stereo) , worse high ISO , very light PF though can surround entire subjects in servere red fringing sometimes, can be computer controlled via cable and has an intervalmeter (can be set to take timelapse photos).Takes the cheaper SD cards. Also has a swivel screen with again a small 2in lcd that can be a pain in bright sunlight to actually see. Does not come with tube to mount filters or add on lenses or rechargeables or a charger. As for the best pictures, some like the canon, some like the sony. Go to a shop and try them both out to see which one you like best. |
