Superzoom to DSLR

I currently own a Nikon p90 . I use this camera on Manual settings 95% of the time. Its very frustrating because ur using the up and down button next to your face and its not very accurate. anyway - Im looking to switch to DSLR. I have a SLR 35mm Nikon N70 that Ive played with from time to time and I like the handle on the manual focus alot better than on my super expensive point and shoot on steroids.

I'm looking for an inexpensive entry level DSLR that is NOT A NIKON
I can't spend more than 800$ I'm a city employee, that should explain.
Comes with a couple of IS lenses, because I tend to get excited when I take photos in the wild.... dont judge me! lol
100% of my photos are shot outside mostly BIRDS, butterflies, general wildlife and... sunsets (I miss taking sunsets! my camera does not alow any filters!)
MP size is not an issue...preferably 10+
Would like to have HD video, but not a deal breaker. definitely would like to have video though.
Easy to use, controls reasonable. I don't want to have to dig through ten menu pages to find what I want.

anyhoo, if you would like to see how my shots are now and maybe get an idea of what kind of pictures i take, check out my flickr or my blog

thanks friends :D
I really appreciate the help, in advance.

Hi,
Sounds like with your budget, the Canon T1i kit(15.1mp with video) would fit your ticket. The experts will tell you that the included 55-250mm is probably short for some of your wildlife, but I looked quick, B H photo and the T1i, with 18-55mm and 55-250mm included(both "IS") for $700 ish.....I am partial to Canon's, I know others will have other solutions for you.

WOW mark, that's the best deal I've seen so far for this particular kit. I scoped it out while at sams club yesterday. they wanted 849$

Yeah, I did a quick search, and I spotted it, $779 with free shipping!!!

Hey, like your camera...doesn't seem anything wrong with the shots your getting.
But, if you don't like it...what's wrong with nikon?
do you want to sell it?

You have great shots on your flikr...great places to be, parks...find all sorts of things to shoot.

Another great entry level kit is the Pentax K-x (excellent high iSO performance). This kit with both the 18-55 and 55-300mm lenses is under $700 at B&H... at least today:
