I currently have a Canon Digital Elph S400. I love the camera and it got great pix. Lately is have been a little buggy (flips from review to shotting modes randomly) and the battery is dying.

I could buy a replacement battery and deal with the current bugs in the camera.

I have heard that the newer sub-compact digitals are not as good image quality as the old S400. Is this true? Would not the latest Canon SD900 or the Panasonic/Lumix models surpass my old S400 in quality? I don't care about speed or LCD screen size or the focal length of the camera so long as the image quality is at least as good as my old S400. Should I replace my old S400?
