I've read the last years worth of Pop. Photo and most of the forums in here, and I still can't choose. I am a camp director. I need to take portraits of groups of children (for sale, 5x7), action shots of children playing and riding horses (for brochures and the web), wide shots indoors and outdoors, and full frame shots of smiling campers. I also like to take shots of wildlife and panoramas - so both big telephoto and wide angles are needed. I would prefer not to spend half my life learning a DSLR, but I am afraid I may need to.I would also prefer not to have to buy a lot of lenses and accessories. I want to be done for under $1000 US, 700 would bebetter.Question is this: Can I get the versatility to do all of the above with a high end super zoom digicam, or do I need to go SLR? Also, do I need to worry about 30' flashes for the dining hall / large program building, or can I get by with turning up the ISO and opening the aperature of a digicam?
Hope someone can help. Suggestions very welcome.
