alfik-
To realistically provide the help you are asking for we will need to know a bit about the kind of photos you are taking, you budget, youe experience and your photoexpectations. While I own both the Canon 350D/XT and the Olympus E-300. Ergonomically Ipersonally much prefer the E-300 to the Canon XT because of the very pinched grip and poor viewfinder on the Canon XT. I you do a lot of shooting in low light level environments then the Canon XT is better. If you like to use a slave flash to increase your flash range to 50 or 60 feet, allowing you to take great digital photos with the 40-150mm lens found in the 2 lens kit. The Olympus E-300 in the two lens kit is a real "best buy." It will given you two very easily carried lenses that fill just aboutevery photographic need from 28mm to 300mm in 35mm terms. MT |

Stay away from Olympus as they forget you after the purchase.

What's the problem that you have with Olympus? Believe me, I see posters angry at all of the camera manufacturers for one reason or another from time to time. None of them are perfect. |

Alfik,
Maybe you can answer your own question. Why did you narrow your choice down to those two cameras? Terry |

It really depends on the style of your shooting. Either camera, the Olympus E-300 or the Canon 350D/XT will serve you well.

Go out to www.pbase.com and do a camera search, and pick out the two cameras, and look at the photos submitted on that site.
You will see the Rebel XT under Canon and the Evolt-300 under OLYMPUS. Study the pictures, note the lenses they are using, and see which results match the style of results you want to get. -- Terry |
