Because of the Sony purchase of Konica Minolta, I would tend to favor the Fuji S-9000 selection.

I just bought a new KM A200 for a very nice price and sold my beloved Powershot S1 IS on Ebay. While Sony will probably not provide a very good service for this digicam, it has to honor the mandatory two year EU warranty.
Compared with the A2 the A200 has slightly better image quality, a nice flip out display like that of Canon and Nikon and finally a much better movie quality. On the other hand the A2 has the best EVF ever made, a fine magnesium alloy case and a more powerful battery compatible with the KM 5D/7D. At current prices the A200 is simply the best value. |

If you want good EVF (4x resolution compared to all others, inluding LCDs) and best manual controls A2 wins hands down all other digicams.
When it comes to claimed noisyness of A2 much of that comes from fact it doesn't do much any noise removing and that little what it does is quite ineffective. (but because of light processing it doesn't spoil JPEGs) Here's quickly processed ISO400 and 800 noise test shots from Steve's A2 review: http://rapidshare.de/files/14515406/...essed.exe.html (self extracting RAR-archive) http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...35&forum_id=87 http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...90&forum_id=87 mtclimber wrote: Quote:
It doesn't mean that KM cameras stop working suddenly. |

Don't sweat it! The A-2 is a great camera. Enjoy it. I'll bet you will enjoy it a lot. MT |

As first thing make sure you use spot/point focus, wide area focus can focus randomly to any smallest tree branch/grass on edge of frame. (+spot focus is much faster in general) If there's little cross in center that means right focus mode, if not press+hold center button of 4-way controller to change camera between wide are focus and spot focus. If you have anything to ask send private message to me or open thread in KonicaMinolta forum. (normal, not SLR-forum) Here's also good instructions: http://www.pbase.com/mtf_foto_studies/mtf_faq And full manual is quite thorough so reading through that would be good. (found in CD or from here) |
