I am curious about the real-life battery life of the DSC-HX5V Sony Camera.
How many pictures do you guys typically get on a full battery charge? How many minutes of HD video can you record on a full battery charge? Do you use Aftermarket or OEM batteries? How many spare batteries do you recommend having? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! |

In mixed shooting with the Sony HX5, I plan on 250 photos, and carry one spare battery as a back up. The OEM batteries are not that expensive and I have a total of three of them. Sarah Joyce |

When shooting video exclusively I can do 39 to 48 minutes on a single charge. Sarah Joyce |

Thanks for the heads up! I am hoping to utilize the DSC-HX5V as our primary camera + camcorder during our vacation, as the video quality is pretty awesome. I suppose I will buy a few spare batteries to ensure that I have enough battery-life as I am estimating on shooting at least an hour or two of video per day in addition to a few hundred photos. Thanks again! |
