These might not be the best examples, but they came to light easily

1- flowers under cover of overhead trees - therefore a bit dark plus white balance is 'off'


2- pop the flash and leave it to the camera [in P mode]

Yes...... I see what you mean. I think the colours in #1 are richer, but I guess it's a matter of taste.

why not experiment a bit, raising the ISO just a little at a time?
