Hi Shatsi
It was only a week ago that I was looking at the Sony W series, namely the W-70 and W-100. I went for the W-100 over the W-50, W-70 for the better features, 1. 1/1.8" sensor vs 1/2.5" 2. 8 Mpixels vs 7.1 3. 7 element lens vs 6 4. Min shutter 30 sec vs 2 sec 5. Has manual For someone that just wants a camera as a straight P&S without these extra features the W-30,50 and 70should be fine as would anyone of the Canon or Panasoniccompacts. Good luck whatever you choose. Regards Wirraway |

In a sense of balance, be advised the www.pricegrabber.com has the very same user reviews as ell.

Shatsi-
For a less than $200.00 digital camera, the Sony W-50 represents a real value. The camera has many, many happy users. It also has a higher that normal ISO range, making it excellent for flash shots, night shots and low light level shooting. MT/Sarah |
