Been lurking around here for the last couple weeks, reading and so on. I'm looking to get into new compact digital for around $200, and I'm looking for recommendations along with thoughts about a couple choices. Here's what I am looking at so far:

Sony Cybershot w350
Canon Powershot SD1400IS

Open to all opinions

Late this year I will be purchasing a DSLR, but I need something that I can tote around with me. I'm not looking for pixel perfect, but something versatile and takes a good picture. I also like the idea of the 720p video capability,

There is also a Used ZS7 for $279 at Amazon Warehouse Deals...which is an good camera also

The return policy is 30 days and this gives you time to see if you really like it or not...

The Kodak Z-950, which received a great review in DPR - Digital Photography Review is selling for around $131.00 at www.amazon.com. It has 10X optical zoom, full Automatic and Manual controls, and does HD video, allowing you to zoom while filming, is probably the best "bang for the buck."

I absolutely love my ZS7, It performs better than I ever expected and it even works very well in low light as long as you don't go beyond the recommend shooting distance.
