I'm looking for a camera for my 7-year old daughter. She's into scrapbooking so I need something that can give a decent 4x6 print (general snapshot pictures). Thus far I've looked at:
Fujifilm Finepix A400 Canon Powershot A410 Kodak EasyShare C533 Nikon Coolpix L4 I'm leaning toward the Kodak for the way its controls are laid out--it looks very child-friendly. But the image of the Canon looks superior... What do you all think? Is there anything else I should be looking at? Thanks! |

Dontodd-
I lean toward the Kodak C-533 more than I do the Canon A-410 just because of the simplicity of the controls and the charging stand and/or charger/printer/stand. Will you be printing 4" X 6" photos at home, or commercially? MT/Sarah |

MT/Sarah,
I think we'll be printing them commerically to start, not sure whether through an online service or local store. One other thing I need to research--we run linux 99.99% of the time, so I need to make sure the Kodak doesn't require proprietary Windows drivers, i.e. that the camera can be recognized as mass storage device. Or I guess I could always use a card reader... Thanks! |

Dontodd-
I believe that your decision to print commercially is a good one. Printing at home is expensive. You might look into www.dimeprints.com. Let the printer be a later reward for creativity and profeciency. Merry Christmas. MT/Sarah |
