The Fuji's are better at low light than the Canon's, but I would take a Canon in the same class over a Fuji in normal light situations. The Canon's are faster, cheaper memory cards, and have more options when looking further if you develop the shooting bug.

I can't find information on that Fuji 6500 anywhere. What would be the difference between the 6500 and the previously suggested 6000?

No difference. It's the S6000. For some reason it's the S6500 in some countries.

Any suggestions for a good, high quality portable photo printer (by portable, I just mean that it doesn't require a computer connection)? With the holidays coming up, it would be nice to be able to print pictures of the family, on the spot, at Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.
