You don't mention a budget. However, you can look at a camera such as the Canon A-540 which is selling at about $135 right now, or the Sony S-600, a discontinued, but excellent little point & shoot camera that is still on dealer's shelves and find them at close-out prices ranging from $100 to $125.

The S-600 is a dandy little camera. I purchased one for a teenage niece, and she really loves the photos from the S-600 a lot.

Does the S600 have manual controls? I thought it was all preset or auto.

You can manually adjust ISO, WB, EV, and shutter to a certain degree, but it does indeed lack a true manual mode. That said, the S600 does seem to be a pretty slick deal if you can find it cheap. I recently picked one up for my brother for $106. I like the fact that it has a 31mm equivalent lens. My fiance has a DSC-S40 (same line, previous generation, many of the same attributes as the S600) and it produces pleasing, sharp images straight from the camera. I definitely agree with Sarah regarding this.

We really need to know more about the OP's budget in order to make a solid recommendation.

Let say I have $500 for my budget. I want a compact DC with manual function.

Then we will need some guidance on your size preference and the amount of desired zoom. With that info, we can then make some realistic suggestions.
