Cashing in some airmiles. I have the below choices. Video with sound would be nice, point and shoot for shots of the kid indoor/outdoor, would like to delve into manual features and learn to take some hi-res nice shots eventually. Have checked the reviews but most of these aren't reviewed yet. Best picture quality is my main consideration.

CanonTM A530 5.0 MP Digital Camera
FujiFilm A510 5.0 MP Digital Camera
HP Photosmart M527 6.0 MP Digital Camera
Nikon CPL3 5.1MP Digital Camera
Olympus® FE-170 6.0MP Digital Camera
Olympus® FE-130 5MP Digital Camera
Pentax Optio E10 6.0 MP Digital Camera
Samsung S600 6.1 MP Digital Camera
SONY DSCS500 6MP Cyber-Shot® Digital Camera

Thanks for your help!

UM-

There is a certain contradiction in your request. Your request stated that your primary concern was, "...best picture quality..." However, the listed cameras were all rather low priced, minimal cameras. It israther difficult to have, BOTHlow price and the highest picture quality.

Or do you mean that, based on your selections only, which will come the closest to your primary concern? For example, the Canon A-540 would be a beter choice than the A-530 in your list, but it is not listed. Can you clarify things a bit, please.

Correct, best quality out of the choices below. I'm limited to those cameras listed and realize they're all entry-level.

Your best choice, from among the group listed is most probably the Canon A-530. For a large portion of your proposed list, there are no reviews from which to gain substantial information.
