I am in the process of purchasing a digital camera for my wife for use in her real estate business. I know she will need a camera with a wide angle lens. I have done a lot of research online but the more research I do the more confused I am getting. I am looking for a camera around $300.00. Which cameras would you recommend?

The Kodak V705 has an extremely wide angle lens. The transition between 23mm equivalent and 38mm has to be done with digital zoom. That probably isn't a big disadvantage for the quality required for most real estate shots, but it would have to be used with a little discretion. It will also stitch panoramas in the camera if you need even wider than 23mm.

I'm not a big fan of the Kodak Easyshare system, but some people like the simplicity. It isn't the greatest camera ever made but it will produce some decent photos. Look through this review and look at the sample photos: http://www.photoxels.com/kodak-v705-review.html

This camera would be worth a look:

For real estate, I wouldn't worry about the noise that Steve talked about. It has a wide-angle lens, which is what your wife needs. My Mom sold real estate for years and used an older Kodak with a 28mm wide lens and it did just fine. Good luck!
