Good day all -

Spoiled with high quality stuff and ... diabetes is making close vision fluctuate and not able to focus consistently.Other problems but ...

Sold the D1x, the big f2.8 and more as I am not able to hold them any longer - need to buy a 'decent' camera which will be a big point n shoot (with features). It will be my only camera and don't really want to get into having a variety of lenses again (maybe three - fast 50, consider the 17-70 Sigma for carry, and later the 50-135 f2.8 Tokina) But ...

I'm riding the bus these days - so carrying the D1x (and similar) make me an attractive target to lose a good camera to thieves.

Was considering the Canon S3-IS but have an Oly C740UZ for carry now and am spoiled with good images from a better camera - so don't want two of basically the same category consumer.

Some I've considered are the Oly E500 (gotta buy the kit I guess), then the Pentax K100/110 is very high on my short list - then the Nikon D40 or D50 (hate those battery choices - but the Oly is proprietary too)

Then this came up ...Has anyone had any -personal- experience with the Fuji S9100? The 'live' and moveable LCD are - very - attractive to me in my situation (vision and carrying) - and the fixed lens will permit me to go to some events that will not permit SLR-types. (no option of taking it back to the car of course).

Thanks for any input.

I own the Fuji S-9000, and have not been too happy with it. I would think, based on my own personal experience with the Nikon D-50, that a Nikon D-40 or D-50 would be better suited to your particular needs.

I've had the unfortunate experience of having that inserted into my postings. I have no idea what causes it, but I always just go back in the times it happensand remove it when I see it. Thank goodness this site allows for the amendment of statements by its users, something sadly missing on other sites.
