Hi all..first post, so take it easy on me.

I've decided upon a Nikon D80 as my first DSLR, and am looking for some advice on which "kit" lens to get.

The options seem to be:

1. Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Autofocus Lens

2. Nikon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor Lens

Basically, I'm looking for a decent "walk around" lens for daily carrying, then I'd like to pick up a good macro lens to take shots of my budding watch collection. So...does anyone have any advice for me?

I guess another option would be to get the body only then try to find the 18-200VR everyone keeps talking about for "daily" use. Another possibility is the 18-70, and the 70-300. So many choices!

Finally, any thoughts on a great macro lens? How does everyone feel about the 105mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor?

Thanks in advance for your input...

Jack

Jack-

My choice for a kit lens for the D-80 would be the Nikkor 18-135mm. I have the Nikkor 70-300mmVR lenses and it is a wonderful lens with great IQ but it is a physically large lens, that I find works better when braced or with a monopod. I have also noted that the sweet spot on that lens seems to be around 250mm.
