The extra zoom and image stabilization will be much more important than theextra MP. the A710IS is the best choice

I haven't tried the a630, but i think my 710 is great, pictures are amazing. And there isn't a big difference between 7 and 8 mp.

It is indeed neglible that the A630 has one additional megapixel. It is much more important that the 1/1.8" sensor is significantly larger than the 1/2.5" sensor of the A710. Consequently the image quality of the A630 is visibly better than the A710 if you don't have shake. The A630 also has a very useful flip out display.
Having said that, I personally decided for the A710, because of the image stabiliser and larger zoom range. I also have quite a few other cameras with larger sensor. The A710 is also somewhat smaller and that makes the A710 more suitable as an "always with me" cam.

Yes, I mentioned it as a flip out display. Actually most of my other cameras have such a flip out display. It not only enhances creativity by allowing shots over the heads etc. but it also allows you to use the display in direct sun light. You simply twist it a little, such that the sun is no more reflected.
