I'm looking for an advanced point and shoot w/ at least 10x optical zoom, at least 8-megapixel, and the most FPS in its continuous shooting mode. Can anyone suggest some options?? The most FPS in continuous shooting mode is a huge part to what I'm looking for.

There are now a number of superzoom point and shoots at 6 and 7 megapixels. The only ones on the market today that I know at 8 or higher are the Panasonic FZ-30 and FZ-50 (8 and 10 megapixels respecitively) and the Fuji S9100 (or S9000). None of them offer blazing FPS for very long. The FZ30 can doa little less than 3 frames per second until your memory card is filled up. The Fuji is much slower at sustained shooting. I can't find the data on the FZ50. If continuous shooting is a big priority, consider getting a DSLR.

FZ30 - almost 3fps in a 5 shot burst at highest quality. Around 2 fps continuous no limit until the card is full.

SP550UZ - for comparison:

7 MP - 1.2 fps (max. 7 before buffering)
3 MP - 5 fps (max. 15 before buffering)
1.2MP - 15 fps (max. 20 before buffering)
