I stumbled upon this whilst dreaming of buying a camera, I quite fancied the Nikon D80 today, but this offer makes me fancy a Canon XTi/400d!

http://canonlensacc2007.onlinerebates.com/

This makes an online price for the Canon 400d £429 inc 18 - 55 mm lens.
So, if you are torn between two or three camera's, this may just help you decide?! :?

Dick-

The offer is quite attractive. However, the choice between the Canon 400D/XTi and the Nikon D-80 is more difficult. I believe that you must ask yourself which camera fits your shooting style best? The second factor for me would be to physically handle both cameras, to determine which felt best in hand.

well, the Canon was screaming at me....so i dashed out and bought one! Yippee, now i just hope Canon let me have my £50 back!

it was a close thing, but with a price difference of a couple hundred quid, i had to go for the Canon. i have an old 75 - 300 in the house from my 35mm days and i am pretty familiar with my Canon G5, so these things also swayed me.

come on battery....charge up will you?!

Oh, and many thanks to Sarah and everyone else who has taken the time and trouble to guide us novices to making a good choice.

Dick-

Happy congratulations on your new Canon XTi. I know that you will enjoy it a lot. Post a few photos when you get a chance.

Have fun!
