hi i'm looking to buy a new camera and was thinking of buying the sony w55, i am buying the camera for holidays and glastonbury this year so definatly want a compact one and was advised this was the best camera in its class, is this right or can someone recommend anything else for around the same price, the shop i have been looking has the casio EXZ1050 would this be a better option i here the casio's picture quality isn't as good,

The W-55 is one of the best all around choices in that category. Especially good if you really want an optical viewfinder. Main drawback is lack of any manual control, including white balance (the Casio has manual WB).

The Fuji Z5fd maight be worth a look as well, also lacking manual white balance, but maybe a bit more effective auto WB.

And I like the Panasonic Lumix FX-07 for the 28mm wide angle, image stabilization, and manual WB.
