Hi Guys,
Ive previously owned two Canon entry level cameras, and am looking at a new purchase.

The Canon A5xx series has caught my eye, specifically the 560 because of the new DigicIII chip. But thats the question. Is this DigicII and III just marking spin? Does this technology really give Canon the edge in picture quality? Picture quality is my number one priority.

How about Sony and their Carl Zeiss Lens? I have a old timer photo hobbyist that swears by these lenses.

Im not really considering Panasonic as I cant seem to get a good price on them in my part of the world, and from what I can gather..noise is an issue in them.

So what do you guys think. Canon A5 series (and if so, is the 560 THE one to get? ) or Sony CArl Zeiss ?

This is a big purchase for me, and online research is overwhelming at times

Thanks, and great reviews Steve!

Both the Canon A-560 and A-570IS have received good reviews, are well priced, and are capable of taking good photos, while offering the advantage of the new Digic III processor.

Yes, the Digic III processor is a real world advance and it is just not advertising hype.
