Hi there. I've been experimenting in the last few days with virtual tours. That is to say short movie clips that show a 360 rotating view of a room in a house.

My camera is an IXUS 40 and is great but I need something that can take a fish eye type lens and has 320x240 movie mode that I can mount on a tripod.

Any ideas?

I hope you're not going to use both at the same time. Most of P&S cameras from ~$150 & up have video capability. You need to check the framing rate as there are still some in the market place that only manage 15 fps.

Hi there,

I've just uploaded my first attempt

http://www.languedocpropertyfinders.com/CASSEG.htm

The problem isn't the frame rate. The problem's the lens not being wide enough. Looks OK on this one but as soon as you get into a room the lens needs to be wwaaayyyyy wider to make sense of it.

The Kodak P880 has a 24mm equiv. lens and will take videos. The Kodak P712 can be fitted with a wide-angleauxilary lennswhich will yield a 25.2mm equiv. and will take videos. I think the Canon S3 (and the A710) will take a wide-angle auxilary lens and will take videos. The Kodaks and the Canons use different file formats so you need to check if that makes a difference in your editing. The Fuji S6000fd has a 28mm equiv. lens and takes videos.

Thanks to everyone for your input. I'll have to go shopping and see how much they are availble for.
