Can someone or two or three or more give an update for the best, easiest to learn and use compact cam. Friend going on trip/vacation cruise and last minute harriet decides she wants digi cam. She is a very non techie type.

If your friend islooking fora digital camerawith the best image quality I recommend looking atone of the Canon PowerShots such as the compact A630/640, A710 IS,or the ultra-compact SD700 IS.

Also check out the Panasonic DMCTZ3. Not only does it have a 28-350mm lens, but it has a 'simple' mode. A friend of mine has this camera. It is easy to use and image quallity on a standard size print looks great. Good luck.
